Bahrain Clear has appointed Seven Pillars Consultancy as an independent adviser to establish a strategic roadmap for the next phase of its post-trade infrastructure.
Announced on the sidelines of Gateway Gulf 2026, the programme will assess and benchmark the kingdom’s central securities depository (CSD) and clearing framework against international standards and global best practices.
The announcement took place in the presence of Bahrain Bourse chairman Yusef AlYusef, Bahrain Clear chairman Shaikh Khalifa bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, Seven Pillars Consultancy founding partner Khaldoun Al Tabtabaie and managing partner Abdullah AlSenan.
The mandate directly underpins the Capital Market Development Plan (2026–2028) – ‘Elevate,’ supporting the introduction of new financial instruments and market services. It covers Bahrain Clear’s operational processes, regulatory alignment, governance structures and technology systems.
“This engagement marks an important step in our continued efforts to strengthen post-trade infrastructure, enhance efficiency and resilience, and bolster market confidence,” said Shaikh Khalifa.
Mr Al Tabtabaie added that aligning depository and clearing house frameworks with global standards ahead of market expansion is critical to cementing international investor trust.
Seven Pillars’ team includes international experts with senior leadership experience across CSDs, clearing houses, and global post-trade advisory.
