Invest in Oman secures $1.1bln in projects during H1 2026

Muscat – The Invest in Oman platform facilitated eight investment projects worth RO460.74mn during the first half of 2026, as the sultanate stepped up efforts to attract high-quality foreign investment and diversify its economy.

The platform also developed and promoted 22 investment opportunities and engaged 150 international companies, highlighting Oman’s competitive advantages and opportunities in priority sectors.

The latest results come as the sultanate continues to attract foreign investment, with data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information showing the country’s foreign direct investment (FDI) stock rose 8.7% year-on-year to RO32.2bn at the end of the first quarter of 2026. New FDI inflows reached RO2.5bn during the quarter.

The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion said the Invest in Oman platform is central to its strategy of improving the investment ecosystem by promoting opportunities, streamlining procedures and connecting investors with relevant government entities.

Nasser bin Khalifa Al Kindi, CEO of Invest in Oman, said the latest developments reflect effective collaboration between the platform, government agencies and strategic partners in attracting quality investments and enhancing the competitiveness of Oman’s business environment.

He said the platform has evolved beyond promoting investment opportunities to supporting investors throughout the investment process, reinforcing Oman’s position as a regional destination for business and investment.

Since its launch in 2023 through the end of the first half of 2026, the platform has supported 45 investment projects with a combined value of RO4bn. These include 37 new projects, support for seven existing projects to overcome operational challenges and continue operations, and the successful promotion of one strategic project.

Al Kindi said investment promotion efforts remain focused on sectors that support economic diversification, including industry, food security, logistics, healthcare and energy. These sectors are expected to increase value addition, strengthen local supply chains, encourage innovation and attract advanced technologies, in line with the objectives of Vision 2040.
